Buy LED Video Wall Under $10,000

Can you really buy an LED Video Wall Under $10,000? The short answer is that you certainly can but not from us! Here you’ll learn why you shouldn’t buy one from anyone else either! Recently a client inquired about the cost to buy an LED video wall for a 10×10 booth space. The rental cost is typically from $18,000 to $22,000 depending on the location, number of days of the show and many other factors. So how is it possible to buy an LED Video Wall Under $10,000? We lost that client when they went online and searched and found a very affordable LED video wall for sale and it was just under $10,000. Of course, at the trade show the client would have learned the hard way about the bargain they found.

video wall pixel size

If you get our video wall rental for a 10×10 space the LED video tiles we use have Pitch of 1.9. This will also be referred to as P1.9. However, there are many companies today renting LED video walls with P2.8 and P2.5. The Pitch simply refers to how far apart the pixels are. For instance, P1.9 means the pixels are 1.9 millimeters apart. When the Pitch is 2.8 the pixels are 2.8 millimeters apart. In fact, that’s almost a full millimeter further apart than the ones we use. Naturally, when the pixels are further apart, there will be fewer of them.

Fewer pixels means the resolution is lower and the sharpness of the video will be worse. Consequently, you can get an LED Video Wall Under $10,000 if you don’t mind having P5.0 LED tiles. When you have P5.0 LED tiles people need to be standing pretty far away or else they will see every one of the pixels that make up the video instead of clearly seeing the video.

Please Step Back About 33 to 49 Feet

The problem with buying an LED video wall for under $10,000 is that it’s best viewed from about 10-15 meters away. Of course, in feet that’s about 33-49 feet away. In fact, these P5.0 video walls do have a valid use, it’s just not at trade shows. The video wall will take up a depth of about 2 feet in your booth. Naturally, that leaves you with 8 feet to the aisles. Obviously, you can’t ask people at a trade show to step back about 33 to 49 feet. For that reason, a P5.0 video wall has no use at a trade show.

However, in some other setting the P5.0 LED video wall might be the perfect solution. For instance, in a church with the video wall on the pulpit, we would expect the closest person in the pews to be about 30 – 50 feet away. In that case the P5.0 option becomes a very affordable LED video wall perfectly suited for that use. Naturally, the video walls for sale that we offer are all P1.9. We also offer video walls for sale for a 10×10 space that are P1.9.

led pitch explained

Pitch of LED Video Walls Explained in Simple Terms

The optimal viewing distance is calculated by taking the pitch and multiplying by 2 or 3 meters. This is what you see in the Optimal Viewing Distance graphic above.  Imagine a screen made of tiny squares, like a mosaic. These squares are called pixels, and the closer they are together, the sharper the picture.

  • Pixel pitch is like the space between two pixels. Think of it like the gaps between Lego bricks.
  • Viewing distance is how far away you stand to see the whole picture clearly.

Here’s the key:

  • Small gaps (small pixel pitch such as 1.9): You can stand closer (shorter viewing distance) because the tiny squares are packed together, making a smooth picture even from near. For example, imagine a close-up view of a Lego model.
  • Big gaps (large pixel pitch such as 5.0): You need to stand further back (longer viewing distance) because the squares are spread out, and you need to be further away to see the whole picture without noticing the gaps. For example, imagine looking at a Lego model from afar.

Basically, the closer the squares (smaller pixel pitch), the closer you can stand to see a good picture.

  • A small gap (1.9 millimeters) lets you see well from just 3-4 meters away.
  • A big gap (5.0 millimeters) needs more space, like 10-15 meters, to avoid seeing the gaps between the squares.

Summary About Buying LED Video Wall Under $10,000

Obviously, you get what you pay for. The P5.0 LED video walls have a place and it’s not at trade shows. Of course buying an LED video wall for under $10,000 can be done for your church. However, for a trade show booth that would simply look horrible because people would be standing too close to see the video. The P5.0 LED tiles would have the pixels 5 millimeters apart which is almost a quarter of an inch apart. Naturally, people walking into your trade show booth would only see the pixels and not your video.
